Critique of John’s paper
I. Strengths.
The overall strength of the paper tended to be in its flow and abundance of sources. Paragraphs that were limited to 8-10 lines summed up the research into very concrete and direct thoughts. The inclusion of letters that dealt with Fort D.A. Russell and certain correspondence helped maintain the thesis in a very matter of fact way. The research paper goes through the history and significance of the Fort in a simplified and reasonable style.
II. Weaknesses.
The weakness of the research paper was its overall length. The length of barely nine pages allows the reader to believe that more research could have been accomplished. The assignment was to be of a paper equaling 10-12 pages. Also, another weakness that I found to be a little of a disruption was how simplistic the summarizing of the research was instead of making a clear argument of which to base the paper on.
